GIS Day is a joint event sponsored by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ, the Hampton Roads GIS User Group, the Virginia Space Grant Consortium, the City of Newport News and the City of Norfolk. Â
GIS Day features professional talks on geospatial technologies, a GIS forum, student map competitions, a GIS Web Application Contest, and door prize drawing.Ìý

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ students are encouraged to participate in GIS Day’s student map competition. Map entries must be associated with a single author. Entires can be based on a student’s final project in a geospatial technology course. Student entries must follow the competition guide, instructions are available from Dr. Hua Liu. The submission deadline is ²Ñ´Ç²Ô»å²¹²â,Ìý11 November 11:59 pm.
GIS day is free and open to GIS professionals, the public, students and faculty.Ìý
