Katherine Hammond is an Associate Professor, Associate Chair of Communication & Theatre Arts at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ and Producing Artistic Director for Warehouse of Theatre – a Norfolk based theatre company which explores the collision of theatre and film. As a director and designer, her works have appeared regionally, nationally, and internationally: at the New York International Fringe Festival, EchoFluxx Festival of New Media and Art in Prague, International Theatre Festival of Vilnius, Lithuania, New Orleans International Fringe, FringeWilmington, Fresh Fruit - Wild Project in NYC, Core Theatre Ensemble, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏRep, Kress Project - Georgia Museum of Art. She and partner, Lee Smith, were the 2017 Professional Winners of Tupac Martir/USITT Lux Festival collaboration. She enhanced her professional expertise by training as an intimacy director for Stage & Film in 2020. As a creative artist and scholar, Hammond explores the indomitability of the human spirit and the disorientation caused by the moment of crisis.
