Nuclear medicine technology is the medical specialty that utilizes sealed and unsealed radioactive materials in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The nuclear medicine technology program at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ is designed to prepare individuals as entry-level nuclear medicine technologists.

Medical and Health Services Managers
Plan, direct, or coordinate medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public health agencies, or similar organizations.
Nuclear Monitoring Technicians
Collect and test samples to monitor results of nuclear experiments and contamination of humans, facilities, and environment.
Nuclear Medicine Technologists
Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists. Subject patients to radiation. Execute blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques.

This program requires a secondary application process. Admission is considered based on GPA, healthcare experience, letters of reference, and an interview. Observation in a nuclear medicine technology department is highly recommended. Candidates must meet the physical requirements to perform the job duties of a nuclear medicine technologist and meet all requirements set forth by clinical sites for direct patient care.
