Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guarantees students certain rights with respect to their education records.

House Bill 1

House Bill 1 (HB1), was passed by the Virginia General Assembly earlier this year, and becomes law on July 1, 2018. It prohibits a university from disclosing a student's email address, physical address or telephone number unless the student has affirmatively consented in writing to the disclosure.
