Ȥҹapp Board

The Ȥҹapp Board sets the Association's strategic direction and is responsible for corporate and financial governance. We have 9 Board members - both veterinary and non-veterinary.

Ȥҹapp Council

Ȥҹapp Council represents the views of all members on matters of veterinary policy and is our key debating chamber. Council has 41 voting members and 2 non-voting members, and is chaired by the Ȥҹapp President.

Ȥҹapp Officers

Ȥҹapp Officers are the face of the Association and sit on both Council and Board. They are elected at the Annual General Meeting to serve 3 years - one each as Junior Vice President, President, and Senior Vice President.

Ȥҹapp Scottish Branch exists to represent members in Scotland. It brings together representatives of our specialist and territorial divisions, Government, academic institutions, and research organisations in Scotland.

Our working groups are convened by Policy Committee according to priority policy development

Policy Committee

The Policy Committee (PC) is a standing committee of Ȥҹapp Council and advises Council on all veterinary policy matters, including animal health and welfare, public health, and veterinary professional issues. PC sets up working groups on proactive policy work.

The panel is a standing committee of Ȥҹapp Council and exists to advise the Policy Committee (PC) and policy working groups on ethical and welfare issues.

The Electoral College is responsible for assessing nominations and formally selecting the Ȥҹapp Officer team.

Member Benefits and Events Committee

The Member Benefits and Events Committee (MBEC) is accountable to the Ȥҹapp Board. They help develop new member benefits and our CPD programme to attract and retain members.

Animal Welfare Foundation

The Animal Welfare Foundation, Ȥҹapp’s charity, uses veterinary knowledge to improve animal welfare through science, education, and debate.

Honorary members

Honorary members are elected at the AGM on the recommendation of Council and are eminent professional and scientific persons and others who have rendered distinguished service to the Association, to the veterinary profession, or to the advancement of veterinary science.

Ȥҹapp specialist and territorial divisions are part of the wider Ȥҹapp organisation. Specialist divisions are represented throughout Ȥҹapp's organisational structure and we work with our territorial divisions to deliver services and support in local areas.
